Launching the collection of books from the first MOZEFO forum
Nampula city, specifically Lúrio University, was the chosen place for the launching of five books collection of the first edition of MOZEFO Forum.
Nampula City, specifically the Univer¬sidade Lúrio, was the place chosen for the launching of five books collection of first edition of the Economic and Social Forum in Mozambique, MOZEFO, in a ceremony with the participation of several personalities of academic arena, politicians, entrepreneurs and civil society.
Books - delivered to the library of Lúrio University and the Provincial Government of Nampula by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Soico Group, Daniel David - contain a summary of remarkable comments made by the speakers, including the challenges and recommendations in each of the five conferences themes that took place in Maputo, between March and September 2015, and they explore five economic sectors, including agro-industry, energy, infrastructure and logistics, tourism and financial services.
On the occasion, the President of Soico Group, Daniel David recalled the four pillars that guide MOZEFO forum - growth and development, innovation and transformation, inclusion and participation, as well as sustainability and responsibility - and the contribution of the now released books towards development of the country.
As the host, the rector of Lúrio University Francisco Noa, praised the fact that the conferences have been reproduced in books and highlights MOZEFO as an open forum for debate, knowledge production, essential for social and economic development of the country.
For the member of the Executive Committee of Millennium bim, Nuno Vaz, the inclusion of the financial sector in MOZEFO pillars has added value to the efforts to achieve an inclusive growth, as the initiative contains important requirements for achieving the stated objectives.
The representative of Nampula government, Leo Jamal, praised the decision to launch the books of MOZEFO in the province and said it is an important contribution to the country development. The release of MOZEFO book collection was preceded by a lecture where Professor Martins Laita argued that the limitation of freedom is hindrance to development. Laita also said that the limitations of freedoms undermine the nation, being one of them political and military tension, which blocks the development, especially in the center of the country.
After Nampula, the collection of MOZEFO works will be launched in Beira (source: OPAIS)
